2. Maybe This Helps Explain Things - The Tyranny Of Guilt: An Essay On Western Masochism, By Pascal Bruckner, trans by Steven Rendall - Reviews, Books - The Independent
"The core of his argument is to accuse Europe of willing collaboration with Islamic fundamentalists seeking to destroy the liberal freedoms we have taken centuries to achieve. He argues that Europe has never recovered from its own barbarity and that now it seeks to cleanse its original sin with a new Eden; even if this Paradise has 70 waiting virgins. The Left has cynically used political Islam for its own ends but, in its naivity, has not realised what collaboration means."
Reminds me in certain ways of Holocaust inversion

ReplyDeleteSomebody should drop Rabkin from a helicopter into the Palestinian quarters and this ought to cure him of his obstructive bent. Nutzliche Juden like Rabkin deserve a taste of the other side . A.S.
ReplyDeleteLevinger should join Rabkin on a one way train to Hamassville. These two support the argument for abortion. Sick, sick, sick...
ReplyDeleteHe didn't hate Eichman and saw him only as a tool of the state? You're sh----ing me?The man was a psychopath devoid of feeling. Why was a politically correct answer like this even printed? AS for Avram asking about Jonathan Pollard, this elephant in the room is something that nobody wants to tackle. There was an article several years ago that suggested that he would have been freed had he agreed to sign a compromise, the details of which escape me, but he would not compromise. His Montreal wife eventually divorced him because he refused to leave prison. Without saying so ther was a hint that he was imbalanced. AS for Mahboueh, how stupid was it to even pose the question.
ReplyDeleteBerlin was German ergo by association it got what it deserved but did it? This city was a city of free thinkers, filled with intellectuals, artists, socialists, anti-Hitler anarchists, and those who believed in the freedom of expression ( as in equlity for Jews, gays, lesbians) and was quite liberal in expression. Hiler's brown shirts made short shrift of those "elitists". I do not love Germans but reading Gunter Grass's The Tin Drum may give you some perspective on what went on at the time. Gunter did not admire Hitler nor his agenda. A.S.
