6. The St. Louis - Next week, the Atlantic Jewish Council and the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic are hosting a commemorative event to mark the 70th anniversary of the voyage of the St. Louis. Here is a link to recount that sad story. The event will include remarks by Lisa Avedon, who as a four year old girl, was on that ship with her parents. A larger exhibit on the St. Louis will open in the fall at the Maritime Museum.
