1. Self Hating Jews, Leadership Edition - This news story leaves me seething with anger. Lenin, to whom the phrase "useful idiots" is incorrectly attributed, must be laughing in his mausoleum - even if it was not his phrase. And by the way - I must have missed the memos from these idiots about the “Jewish Fast for Gilad Shalit”, the “Jewish Fast for Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev”, the “Jewish Fast for S’derot” and the “Jewish Fast for Northern Israel” (among, of course, many other similar events).

4. Bubble Gum - More Conspiracy theories! Thanks to DB in Calgary for the tip on this one - did you know that Israel secretly distributes libido increasing gum to Gaza to destroy the younger generation? I thought that the Hamas work of in indoctrinating the younger generation in anti-Israel, anti-West hatred and encouraging them to be "shahids" for the cause of radical Islam was rather more effective as a destructive tool - but that's just me - I'm old-fashioned!
5. Peace Partner Redux Redux Redux - In Ramallah - the home of the supposedly moderate and alleged peace partner Fatah, comes this beautiful story of yearning for peace. Leonard Cohen's concert to take place in Ramallah was cancelled due to pressure from pro-Palestinian groups angry that he will also play in Tel Aviv - you know, which is part of the land of Palestine that has been occupied by the colonialist and apartheid Zionist regime. This really bodes well for the resolution of rather larger issues.....see also Barbara Kay on the subject.
6. What is it with Democrats? - First, Al Gore claimed to have invented the internet. Now he is the maven of global warming despite living in a house that allegedly uses 20 times the electricity of a normal American home (his spokeswoman claims that the electricity used is "green'). Now he likens the fight against global warming to the war against the Nazis. When heavy electricity consumers start taking over countries and eliminating members of the Green Party, let me know - otherwise, find a new and less offensive analogy.
7. Speaking of Electrical Use in Tennessee - Did you know that the Manhattan Project (based in Oak Ridge, TN) to design the atomic bombs used between 10% and 16% of the entire US electrical capacity at the time?
And speaking of the Manhattan Project, I used to like Jon Stewart. But his suggestion that Harry Truman was a war criminal for authorizing the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki is dangerously inaccurate and incorrect revisionist thinking. (he has since apologized, admitting it was a stupid thing to say - and I will give him full credit for doing so) In any event, see this response that categorically answers this type of foolishness.

10. Quotes about Jews - A member of the Halifax Jewish community (thanks!) sent me a copy of an email that contained a number of complimentary quotes made by non-Jews about Jews. I will try to work some of these in from time to time. Here is the first one such quote from Winston Churchill and his article "Zionism versus Bolshevism"

11. Baseball All-Star Game - The MLB All-Star Game will be played this evening in St. Louis. Even when I loved baseball, I was never a fan of the midsummer classic. But many dramatic events have taken place in that annual game, including a titanic home run hit by Reggie Jackson (of whom I was never a fan either) in Tiger Stadium.
